300 hour yoga
teacher training

The Nook Yoga Teacher Training will give you essential knowledge and skills to begin your teaching journey confidently. Through theoretical and practical understanding of postures, philosophy, meditation, anatomy, physiology, as well as self-regulation and communication skills, you will be inspired to lead meaningful yoga classes. In addition to the primary areas of study there will be hands-on experience; learning to read bodies and support individuals in a group setting through language and touch. This program is designed for serious students who have a minimum of two years of personal practice experience. If you are ready to be taken out of your comfort zone and initiate the process of becoming a great teacher, this program will help you to understand and foster your unique offering.

details

The training schedule is designed so students can continue to work full or part-time while enrolled in the program. The curriculum will be held over weekends and there will be opportunity to meet individually for a number of 1-1 mentoring sessions. We provide space between weekend intensives to allow time to practice and integrate content, while balancing other commitments. This training will be maxed out at 20 students so that each student will have a fair amount of teaching practicum and feedback. We believe that the process of learning takes time and this method of training allows absorption of the material, practical application of information and genuine connections within the group to form over the course of 6 months.

In addition to having two years of personal practice experience, we ask that anyone enrolling in the program is familiar with and comfortable with the essential postures of the Classic sequence. It will be useful to be able to handle a disciplined yoga training and have fundamental practical experience with yoga

postures. We recommend those in training regularly attend classes over the course of the program to experience what they are learning as it is put into practice.

Art of Adjustments & Assists - Course Review

“I recently attended The Art of Adjustments & Assists, I absolutely loved this training and the information they both provided. The knowledge and guidance I gained from this workshop enabled me to immediately change my approach. I now feel confident to step off my mat and offer hands on assists and adjustments in all my classes. This training is a game changer!! Highly recommend this training to all yoga teachers who are hesitant to step off the mat to teach.”

Art of Adjustments & Assists - Course Review

“I had the pleasure of taking the Art of Hands-on Adjustments and Assists course through Nook Yoga, it was amazing! The owners Chantel and Anna are so kind and always looking out for the yoga teacher community in Barrie:) As someone who took their YTT online during the pandemic, I felt like I was missing that in-person support and experience. As soon as I started practicing at Nook, and even as I opened my own little studio, I instantly felt this support I was missing. I was so excited to learn they were going to offer Yoga Teacher training through their beautiful studio space. These ladies have so much valuable experience and knowledge to share. It’s obvious how well they truly understand and appreciate all aspects of Yoga and teaching Yoga. They are not gatekeepers and happily want to share their skills and knowledge with whoever is hoping to learn more and grow in their own practice and skills. I thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on adjustments and assists course. It covered all of the aspects I wanted to learn and more. They provided guidance as we covered each pose, demoing what we could do, and how we could creatively give our students additional support and hands-on touch. We had the opportunity to practice with each other and offer feedback as we applied what we had learned. I highly recommend any class, course, or training that Nook offers. Again you won’t be disappointed and will leave feeling empowered and confident in your practice and teaching abilities!”
